Andy Murray fed up with blood test
Andy Murray is fed up with being tested for illicit drugs.
Meanwhile aircrew have highly abnormal amounts of chemicals in their blood (including tricresyl phosphate – an organo phosphate) which leads to brain and central nervous system damage but their blood is never tested.
And even when aircrew blood is tested by experts the results are not believed. Very convenient.
Isn’t it ironic that we fret about sprotsmen’s intentional abuse of drugs and yet professional aircrew appear to be an exception to the rule – what would the passengers say - if they knew?
Well, at least we know what one passenger – Andy Murray – would say.
How do they get away with it?

Dear John:
You are an amazing advocate for all who fly by air. You are absolutely right, pilots should be tested for petrochemical toxicities and organophosphates. As is pointed out in your last article we think nothing about routinely testing for illegal drugs and alcohol which could impair a captain’s piloting performance. Remember the way legislation is drafted and passed. Consider getting the testing laboratories to determine how much money they would receive if there was mandatory every few months testing of all cabin crew. Now, how many employees in the UK work in this cabin environment??? Multiply that times petrochemical testing fees times 4 times a year. That is a lot of money I think, enough to get the laboratories that do this high end biomedical testing to lobby on your behalf for mandatory testing. Remember legislation reflects where the money is – follow the money.
Have fun drafting the legislation with the member of parliament you like the most.
